Me holding a tagged hammerhead
Tagging a hammerhead in Mossel Bay, South Africa

I have a B.S. degree in biology, a bizarre work history (includes freelance writing, marketing, retail, and a stint at a law firm) and am currently working on my MS in Environmental Science and Policy. I plan to study basking shark tourism in Ireland (it’s not really a thing… yet).

In the meantime, I talk and write about issues related to the environment, policy, sustainability, and anything else that sparks my interest*. I blog more frequently for other websites, such as PEREC.gmu.edu. While you’re there (I know you clicked), be sure to check out all the awesome research people way cooler people then me do! Especially this study, because I am the one who does the plankton counts.

If you are interested in pharmaceutical pollution in freshwater, watch my directorial debut, filmed in the summer of 2017. I’m also currently working on a new science documentary, this one focused on wetlands. Stay tuned for updates!
